STS Cranes
A STS Crane or Gantry crane handling container at ports and Dockside found at container terminals for loading and unloading containers carried in ship.
A supporting framework that can traverse the length of a quay or yard on a railing makes up the STS crane. There is no hook to handle the container but instead a spreader is used to handle the container. The spreader can be lowered on top of a container and locks onto the container's four locking points ("corner castings") using a twist lock mechanism. This type of crane generally transport single container, but with change in time 2 to four container can moved at once.
